Springfield, Ill. (WICS/WRSP) - Glenwood alum Will Plattner just graduated. He ended his high school career competing in the State Championship, the pinnacle of youth ball here in Illinois.
Plattner's successful career is not over. The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes catcher is continuing his talents with the best college baseball team in the nation, the College World Series champions, the Ole Miss Rebels.
Plattner will be heading down south in August and is expecting to catch, but he says he's up for any position the coaching staff feels they want to put him at.
"It really felt like home after the phone calls I've had with them," Plattner said. "I love that coaching staff and I just really want to get down there. Glenwood did a lot for me. Casey Erickson, the head coach, he was a big part of all of this. He really pushed me to just be the player I am today."
