2022 NBA free agency got off to a very fast start. The moratorium barely got underway and news began flooding in of deals that were agreed to, in principle, between players and their new teams.

There were a total of eight max contracts signed thus far this offseason. Zion Williamson, Ja Morant and Darius Garland signed rookie maximum extensions; another could be on the horizon for No. 3 overall pick, RJ Barrett with the New York Knicks as well.

Nikola Jokic, Karl-Anthony Towns and Devin Booker signed supermax extensions to remain with the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns. Zach LaVine and Bradley Beal signed max free-agent deals to return to the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards, respectively.

We could see another max depending on the deal that James Harden works out with the Philadelphia 76ers and restricted free agent Deandre Ayton could reach the max rookie extension as well. Miles Bridges would have been in the same boat, but his future is cloudy following his arrest.
