Body found in canal in Madera, deputies say

MADERA, Calif. (KFSN) -- An investigation is underway after a body was found in a canal in Madera on Sunday.

Authorities say they found the body in the area of Pickfair Way and El Vado Dr in Madera Acres.

The body has been identified as 65-year-old Prospero Medina-Gomez. Authorities say no foul play is suspected at this time.

The case is being investigated by the coroner's office to determine the exact cause of death.
