CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A crowd estimated at close to 3,500 filled the Great Lawn near the Wilma Rudolph Event Center at Liberty Park for the annual Independence Day Celebration on Sunday.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation hosted the event, co-sponsored by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County, featuring live music, food trucks, family activities, and of course, the big 20-minute fireworks show.

The concert included performances by Stray Nova and the Jimmy Church Band. There were also sack races, cornhole, and large Plinko and Jenga.

Geese from the fishing pond were excited by the fireworks show and provided their own honking background music for the opening rounds.

Fireworks weren’t the only thing popping Sunday night. During the fireworks show, Brandon Dyer popped the question, and Haley Whitman accepted.
