A man wanted in connection to the shooting death of a man in Moody early Sunday morning was located in Mississippi Monday, according to the Moody Police Department.
Police thanked the public after 36-year-old Stanley Calvin Burrell Jr. was taken into custody.
Police said officers were called to the parking lot of 6100 building at the Barrington Parc apartments shortly before 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning after a report of someone being shot.
When the officers got to the apartments, police said they found 30-year-old Kenderris Abernathy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Police said Abernathy was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said witnesses said that the suspect in this case, identified as Burrell Jr., fled the scene before officers arrived.
Based on information collected at the scene and from witnesses to the shooting, police said Moody detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Burrell in connection with the murder of Abernathy.
Police said Burrell (6'2"/175 pounds), who also goes by the nickname “C.J.”, is not in custody and this time.
