2 children shot after 4th of July weekend celebration in Wilmington

Authorities say a 6-year-old and 7-year-old were shot during a drive-by shooting that erupted following a 4th of July weekend celebration in Wilmington, Delaware.

Authorities say two young children were hurt in a drive-by shooting that erupted after a 4th of July weekend celebration in Wilmington, Delaware. 

Investigators say the shooting happened on the 2300 block of North Pine Street just after midnight Monday. 

The victims, ages 6 and 7, were suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds and one has since been released from the hospital.

Councilwoman Zanthia Oliver described the shooting as a "spray of bullets." 

"I just think it's sad, it's occurring all over," Oliver said.

Investigators have not shared a possible motive for the drive-by shooting. No arrests have been reported.
