UPDATE 3:36 p.m.: Lynchburg Police say they have found the vehicle and driver involved in Saturday’s hit and run that left a woman injured.

On Monday, July 4, the man driving the 2015 Nissan Altima involved in the incident contacted police. Authorities say he is cooperating with the investigation.

According to officials, charges are pending in connection with this ongoing crash investigation.



LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is looking for a driver who hit a woman and took off on Saturday.

Officers responded to the 1000 block of Ardmore Drive on Saturday, July 2 for a call of a woman hit by a car. When they arrived, they found a 38-year-old with serious injuries. Police say she was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment.

An investigation determined that the person connected with the hit and run was driving a white mid-2000s Nissan Maxima with tinted windows. Police say that person drove away toward Old Forest Road. Police believe there is front-end damage from the collision.
