4 shot overnight in downtown KCMO

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Four people were shot overnight in a busy area of downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

A police report states officers heard gunfire just after midnight outside the T-Mobile Center.

The officers were in the area near East 14th Street and Grand Boulevard investigating unrelated reports of more than a dozen car burglaries between 8 p.m. and midnight.

The officers heard multiple gunshots in the area of 13-14th Street and Grand Boulevard, on the west side of the T-Mobile Center.

Police called for additional officers to respond, as there was a large crowd in the area.

KCPD says police located four shooting victims.

Two men and a woman were found with non life-threatening injuries and taken to hospitals, police said.

The fourth victim, a juvenile girl, was taken to a hospital by a private vehicle.

Her injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Crime scenes were found in front of the T-Mobile Center and at the intersection of East 13th Street and Grand Boulevard, police said.

One person was detained at the scene.

No word on any charges in the shootings.
