Tilley, Helms, Evans pick up top MHPD awards

The annual Mountain Home Police Department award luncheon was held Wednesday with James Tilley, John Helms and Josh Evans picking up the top honors. Tilley was named the officer of the year, Helms earned the civilian of the year award and Evans received the reserve officer of the year honor.

Honorable discharge awards were presented to those who retired in 2021-22. This includes Eric Neal, Jay Volkman, Bill Dearmore and Scott Heizler.

Other awards included the honorable service award to Andrew Artz, the samaritan award to Robert Recktenwald, life saving awards were presented to Jared Medina and Daniel Shaw, Dearmore got an honorable mention and Jackie Denwalt, Robert McCoy and Bryan Corbett each earned a certificate of merit.
