Police in Tacoma are searching for a suspect after four people were shot and wounded at an apartment complex, the second weekend in a row the city's law enforcement officers have been called to respond to a mass shooting.
The four victims, whose identities have not been released, were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were believed to be non-life threatening.
Investigators said the victims were two males and a female. The gender of the remaining victim was not immediately known.
According to a social media post, police were called to the 3300 block of S. Asotin Street shortly after 9 p.m.
Police were searching the 3500 block of S. Wilkeson Street with a K9 unit but officials didn't immediately provide details about who they were searching for.
Residents were urged to avoid the area while the search was underway.
Investigators said a neighborhood dispute led to the gunfire but it was not clear what the dispute was about.
Seven days ago, the city's police were called to a private venue after an argument in an alley behind the site ended in gunfire, leaving at least eight people wounded.
Police have still not made an arrest in that shooting, and authorities said all of the victims ranged in age from 17 to 21.
Later that same night, a dispute at a Tacoma home also ended in gunfire with four people wounded.
Police were called to investigate reports of a shooting at a home in the 900 block of E. 52nd Street.
When they arrived, a 38-year-old man was found dead in the backyard. Three others at the home were also injured during the incident.
Police have arrested a suspect in that shooting.
