The 215th Army Band is having a special two-hour performance in Haverhill this Thursday.

The collaboration of Veterans Northeast Outreach Center, Haverhill Veterans Services, Haverhill Veterans Council, City of Haverhill and Mayor James J. Fiorentini, were instrumental in securing the free concert for July 7, at 6 p.m., at Haverhill’s Riverside Park.

“Anytime where there is an opportunity for the 215th Army Band to perform in our community, you have to jump at the chance,” said Veterans Northeast Outreach Center Executive Director Scott Forbes. He added, “The City of Haverhill has invested in VNEOC for over 25 years, and we can’t be more appreciative. This event is a perfect illustration of our long-lasting partnership, and it also highlights the support we have from local organizations as well.”

Concertgoers are advised to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Those would like to help and support the event or become a vendor may email Don Jarvis at [email protected].

The 215th Army Band consist of more than 35 members, and they divide into smaller groups known as Musical Performance Teams. The musical diversity of these teams ranges from pop music, small classical quintets, fife and drum corps and New Orleans Brass Band to a vocal quintet that performs at major sporting events. The band will play music styles that include jazz, rock, patriotic, classical, and concert band works.

“The 215th Army Band has a mission to tell the Army story, to recognize leadership traits and veterans for their service, and to connect with communities” said retired Army noncommission officer and Haverhill Veterans Services Officer Jeffrey C. Hollet. He added, “It’s a real privilege to welcome the MAARNG Army Band to the City of Haverhill on behalf of the mayor, Haverhill VNEOC and numerous veterans’ organizations and multiple civic organizations.
