Is Lee County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass being investigated?

Editorial

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors extremist ideology, investigates groups and individuals that promote fascism and the creation of a white ethnostate.

White ethnostate is a proposed type of state in which residence or citizenship would be limited to white people, and would exclude non-whites, such as black peopleAsian peopleJews, and Native American people. In the United States, proposals for such a state are advanced by White supremacist and White separatist factions such as Ku Klux Klansmen and Neo-Nazis whether through claiming a certain part or the whole of the country to have a white majority.

Are they investigating Lee County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass? The Southern Poverty Law Center will not say Yes or No at this time, we wonder why?

According to the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center, the list of the Neo-Confederate groups is Abbeville InstituteCouncil of Conservative CitizensFlaggers (Confederate flag erectors)Ku Klux Klan (1st and 3rd incarnations), League of the SouthSons of Confederate VeteransSouthern Party (defunct) and United Daughters of the Confederacy.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Neo-Confederate group Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) has members who are serving military officers, elected officials, public employees, and a particular national security expert with “Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.”

Records show that Lee County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass received campaign donations from the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) in 2017 and 2018.

Is Lee County Commissioner Cecil Pendergrass a member of a Neo-Confederate or member of a hate group? Why would he take money from a known group? Why didn’t he just return the donation?

SCV is a Neo-Confederacy also incorporates advocacy of traditional gender roles, is hostile toward democracy, strongly opposes homosexuality, and exhibits an understanding of race that favors segregation and suggests white supremacy.

“Black lives don’t matter” and “Black people are like cockroaches that should be exterminated,” Who made the comment in the Freeh report? Should the NAACP get involved?

  1. The question is why would he ever except funds from an organization that promotes racism, and anti-somatic points of view. If he’s not a member of this horrific organization, he should be required to return all donations made by this heat group!!!

    1. Another liberal nut speaks, why does the US give millions to countries that hate us, why do all political candidates take money from questionable sources and why does the US continue to be friends with and do business with countries who brought slaves here for sale i.e. Spain, Portugal, France and so on? Pendergrass is as neutral and fair as you get so stop the witch hunt, learn history and stop throwing the word racism around because you have nothing useful to say!
