Man charged with shooting, killing woman after assaulting her daughter in Lumberton
Lumberton police have arrested a man they said shot and killed a woman, after assaulting her daughter.

LUMBERTON, N.C. — Lumberton police have arrested a man they said shot and killed a woman, after assaulting her daughter.
Police said 35-year-old Jermaine Lee Johnson has been charged with first degree murder for the death of 45-year-old Barbara Baxley.
According to police, Baxley's daughter told them Johnson forced his way into her home and assaulted her, before shooting Baxley.
Johnson is currently being held in the Robeson County Detention Center without bond.
