Late surge lifts Bombers past Chiefs, 7-3

The Dubois County Bombers snatched the lead late in the game in a 7-3 victory over the Paducah Chiefs on Sunday. 

The game was tied at three, with Dubois County batting in the bottom of the eighth when Kasten Harvey drew a walk, scoring one run.

Cory Anderson earned the win for the Bombers. The righty lasted one inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out three. Eli Steimel and Grant Stratton entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Colin Hawkins took the loss on the mound for Paducah, allowing two hits and four runs over one inning, striking out two.

Braden Pickett started the game for Dubois County. He went six innings, allowing zero runs on three hits and striking out eight. Jose Monegro started the game for the Chiefs. The bulldog went four innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out three.

Xander Willis led Dubois County with two hits in two at-bats.

Kyler Carmack went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Chiefs.

Paducah returns to action Tuesday night at Brooks Stadium, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The Paducah Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Tuesday's game, with free admission to the public. Can't make it to Brooks Stadium. Listen to Brenden Evers on The Fan 99.5F.m.
