A heat wave builds for next week

Starting on the Fourth of July, Mother Nature is cranking up the heat. Highs should reach the middle-90s across much of the FOX 23 coverage area. Unsurprisingly, the humidity will be in full swing. This will make the air feel several degrees past 100° once the humidity is factored in.

Heat Advisories have been posted for Cape Girardeau and surrounding areas starting Monday. For the majority of our counties, the Heat Advisory remains in effect through Thursday for the time being.

In fact, we’ll be dealing with an all-out heatwave through the end of the workweek, along with small storm chances each day.
