CLOQUET, MN -- A Superior teen has been charged with several felonies after allegedly firing 10 rounds at a car in Cloquet Saturday night.

Police say the 16-year-old suspect allegedly tried to steal a backpack from two boys in Pinehurst Park around 11:30 p.m.

But they started fighting and the suspect pulled out a pistol.

At some point, police say the pistol was knocked to the ground.

The suspect told the boys they better run and started chasing them.

The boys flagged down a car with two women in it.

The boys got in their vehicle and the suspect fired at them, damaging the car.

No one was hurt.

The suspect told authorities a different story, claiming the two boys stole his phone that night.

But authorities say the suspect did admit to stealing the gun from a car in Superior.

He’s due back in court July 12. The Carlton County attorney’s office hopes to prosecute the case in adult court.

No word if the suspect knew any of the other parties involved.
