CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – A house off of Memorial Drive was heavily damaged in a fire early Sunday morning.

At about 2:47 a.m., Clarksville Fire Rescue was dispatched to a house fire on Norwood Trail, according to Assistant Chief Michael Rios.

A family of four escaped the blaze without injury, he said. The family dog also made it out safe, Rios said..

The house had severe roof damage, and four cars at the house were destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fireworks were not believed to be responsible, Rios told Clarksville Now. He said the fire may have started in the vehicles.

The American Red Cross responded and is assisting the family.

Battalion 2 units from Stations 3, 2, 4, and 1 responded, and crews were there until 10:30 a.m.
