Acting Police Chief Jon Murad says this is Burlington's 15th gunfire incident in 2022
Burlington police have arrested a man, following reports of shots fired near a bus stop on North Avenue.
Police received a call around 10 p.m. Saturday about a man discharging a firearm at the bus stop near Cambrian Rise.
The caller was able to provide a detailed description of the man and officers were able to locate him on Crowley Street, where he was detained at gunpoint, along with a second man.
Police identified the suspect as Leon Delima. Acting Chief Jon Murad says Mr. Delima is known to the department from multiple prior police interactions.
Officers took Delima into custody and recovered felony amounts of cocaine. The man who was with Delima was released.
Police also recovered ballistics evidence at the scene and in the area where Mr. Delima was arrested. He's since been transported to Northwest State Correctional Facility.
