LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department arrested a man for reportedly stabbing another man Saturday night.

At 10:32 p.m. on Saturday, July 2, officers responded to reports of a stabbing at 4649 Alabama Avenue in Lynchburg, according to the department.

Upon arrival, officers found a 35-year-old man with multiple stab wounds in his leg. He was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

According to police, 28-year-old Sheldon Lydell Page Jr. of Shipman, was arrested at the scene and taken to the Lynchburg Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond.

Authorities say Shipman is currently facing the following charges:

  • Malicious wounding
  • Public intoxication
  • Impersonation of a law enforcement officer
