ShopRite in Greenwich Township is voluntarily recalling its store-made ground meat that was produced and sold this past Saturday.
ShopRite representatives said in a news release there’s a possibility the ground meat may contain small metal fragments. The recalled products include all store-made packages of ground beef; Angus ground beef; meatloaf mix; and ground pork with a sell-by date of Saturday, July 2.
No other products sold from the store, 1207 Route 22, are affected by the recall. Representatives say the recall only pertains to the Greenwich Township location and called it an “isolated incident” in the release.
No injuries were reported as a result of the recall.
ShopRite is asking patrons to check the labels of any ground beef products they may have bought from the Greenwich store and still have at home. Customer questions or concerns can be directed to 1-800-ShopRite or 800-746-7748.
Patrons who bought any of the recalled products are asked to return the meat for an immediate refund or replacement, said ShopRite spokeswoman Karen Meleta said.
ShopRite additionally is reaching out to Price Plus club card customers who purchased the products to alert them to the recall and to provide a refund that will be issued to their Price Plus cards,” Meleta said.
ShopRite operates under Keasbey, New Jersey-based Wakefern Food Corp. and is the largest supermarket cooperative nationally.
