SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Local business owner Denise Dubois and former Real Housewife of New York City Heather Thomson are partnering for the launch of Dubois Beauty — a new clean skincare line that uses mineral waters from Saratoga Springs.

Dubois, a licensed esthetician and founder of Complexions Spa for Beauty and Wellness with locations in Albany and Saratoga Springs, created her skincare brand to offer innovative, clean beauty solutions for customers at her high-end Capital Region spas, which she has owned and operated for 35 years.

Five years in the making, the natural skincare collection aims to include products containing the best clean, active ingredients inspired by nature.

Dubois means “of the forest” in French. Several of the key ingredients used throughout the skincare line come from the Boreal Forest found in the northeast region of the United States and Canada. The brand also uses mineral waters from the famed health and wellness resort destination Saratoga Springs.

The Dubois Beauty skincare line features 13 products, with another five in production.

The current product line includes Marula Bloom Cleansing Oil, AHA Cleansing Milk, Defend Antioxidant Serum, Vital A Serum, Bright Eyes Eye Cream, Protective Day Cream, Renew Buffing Cream, Clarity Hydrogel Moisturizer, AHA Toner, Clarifying Charcoal Cleanser, Calm Saratoga Minerals Mist, Clear Saratoga Minerals Mist and Restorative Night Cream.

“While we cannot turn back the clock, we can improve our own life and the experience of living,” Dubois said in a press release. “Through my extensive beauty industry knowledge and access to professionals and experts in the field, it has been my passion project to create a clean skincare line at the clinical level that produces superior results.”

Dubois is a pioneer in clean beauty and sustainability. Her spa became the first Gold LEED-certified spa in the country for new construction in 2008 by the U.S. Green Building Council.

A referral and introduction from a mutual friend set in motion the friendship between Dubois and Thomson, who spends much of her time in the Berkshires. The entrepreneur, podcaster, philanthropist and former Real Housewives of New York City personality proudly serves as the brand ambassador of Dubois Beauty and will promote the collection on social media and via her podcast ‘in MY heart.’

The partnership between these two women is a natural one, as Thomson is a Certified Integrative Health Coach focused on a holistic, science-based approach to nutrition and health.

“Balance and overall health and wellness is extremely important. Life is a balance of choices. Denise and I are of the same mindset that you must live life and make every choice that feels right at the time but being conscious of the choices that we make and how it makes us feel,” Thomson said in the release. “The nice thing about Dubois Beauty is I don’t have to worry about my skincare, I know that’s always in check with Denise’s products.

“The products that really do what they say they’re going to do — those are the brands that stick around and last. I assure you, you have only seen the beginning of Dubois Beauty, because Denise knows what she’s doing, and she did it exceptionally.”

Following a recent Dubois Beauty skincare launch event in Saratoga Springs, the duo is planning a wellness workshop and retreat this fall.
