KALAMAZOO, MI – A 17-year-old was shot Saturday evening in Kalamazoo.

Kalamazoo Public Safety officers say the shooting happened Saturday evening, July 2, in the 2000 block of Inverness Lane. The 17-year-old, officers said, is expected to survive their injuries.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 269-337-8140.

The shooting is one of several shots fired and shooting incidents the department has investigated so far over the holiday weekend.

Early Saturday, Kalamazoo Public Safety officers said a house in the 1700 block of E Stockbridge was struck about 30 times by gunfire. No one was injured.

That came after another shots fired incident officers also reported early Saturday. Officers said they responded to a mobile nuisance party in the 800 block of Woodberry Avenue when several gunshots were heard nearby.

Officers located the man believed to have fired the shots and arrested him after a foot chase. No one was struck by gunfire, and the gun used was located.

Late Friday, around 11:30 p.m., two people were injured in a shooting in the 1500 block of Lafayette Avenue. No suspects are in custody, and officers say the people shot are expected to survive their injuries.
