PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- A security guard and another man are dead after police say the security guard refused to let the man into a bar, and they got into a fight in Phoenix late Saturday night.

Authorities say it happened at a bar near 48th Street and McDowell Road around 1:30 a.m. When officers showed up, they found 35-year-old Jordan Davis, a security guard for the bar, who had been shot in the parking lot. Davis was taken to the hospital in critical condition but died at the hospital from his injuries. Police say another man, 34-year-old Daniel Stuart, later showed up at a hospital and had been shot several times. Stuart also died at the hospital.

Detectives spoke to multiple witnesses who were in the bar parking lot and pieced together what led up to the shooting. A police spokesman says Davis and Stuart got into a fight, which led up to the shooting after Davis refused to let Stuart into the bar. Stuart reportedly ran away before officers arrived at the scene. Police say another security guard working at the bar was briefly detained and spoke with detectives about what happened, and then was released. Once the investigation is complete, authorities say the case will be submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for review.
