WBZ-TV reporter Katrina Kincade has made history.

Kincade is the first Muslim woman to be named Miss Massachusetts

Kincade won the title following the two-day Miss Massachusetts competition at the Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts in Worcester this weekend, according to the organization.

Kincade will now go on to compete for the Miss America title.

Kincade most recently worked as a news anchor for WWLP in Springfield, where she spent nearly three years before moving to WBZ News in Boston in April.

The Miss Massachusetts contest is put on annually by The Miss Massachusetts Scholarship Foundation, Inc., a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to helping young women recognize their potential.

The contest serves as a preliminary to the Miss America Program, the largest source of scholarship for young women in the country.
