Levy lift is too much considering property values

So, the South Kitsap Fire and Rescue wants to lift the Levy Lid to $1.50 from the current rate of $1.21/per $1,000 valuation? Not so fast. 

All of us in Kitsap County just received, this month, a “Notice of Value” for our homes, and my neighbors and I are still reeling from “sticker shock!” The increased values are extremely excessive and well over what I ever thought might be the case.

The levy lid does not need to be increased! The increased value of our homes will more than cover the increased cost of what they think they need. They can’t have it both ways. 

Don’t be fooled — this is truly “gouging” the public! If they want to renew the current rate, that would be a more reasonable approach. Vote no on lifting the levy lid lift!
