PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. -- A Georgia man was arrested after a stolen vehicle pursuit took place near Panama City Beach Saturday.
Daquan Johnson, 31, of Georgia, is charged with fleeing and eluding after Panama City Beach Police and Bay County deputies were involved in a high-speed chase in reference to a stolen BMW.
The chase began on U.S. 231 and County Road 2321, where police attempted to intercept the vehicle. The vehicle then fled at a high rate of speed, according to a release.
Bay County deputies were then informed and attempted to use stop sticks on the Bay and Jackson County line to stop the vehicle. That attempt was unsuccessful.
Florida Highway Patrol was also informed. They also tried to stop the vehicle on U.S. Highway 321 and Kent Lane.
According to a release, Johnson avoided the trooper's stop sticks and came to the stop on the shoulder of U.S. Highway 231.
Johnson then attempted to fell on foot but was quickly located and taken into custody.
Johnson was booked into Jackson County Jail. Bond and mugshot information is currently unavailable.
