A 23-year-old man charged with attacking another person with a beer bottle, lawn chair and his bare hands appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Monday.

Michael Rose, who lists an address in Harrison on court documents, entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him.

He was arrested May 13 when police were called to a Gassville residence to answer a physical disturbance report.

When a Gassville Police Department officer arrived at the address along South School Street, he was told Rose had attacked the victim in the driveway of the home. The officer was told Rose was alleged to have first hit the victim in the back of the head with a beer bottle, then with a lawn chair and finally his bare hands.

An ambulance from Baxter Regional Medical Center was called to the scene to check the victim.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the victim was examined, but said he did not want to be transported to the hospital.

The affidavit is silent on what provoked the attack.

Rose was taken to the Baxter County Detention Center and booked on aggravated assault charges. The affidavit indicates the charge was due to the “seriousness of the attack.”

His bond is set at $10,000.
