NORRISTOWN — If it’s summer in Norristown, you can bet on two sure things – live music will be a weekly entertainment – and fireworks will cap off a festive Fourth of July.

For decades Norristown residents and neighbors have been enjoying the bounty of talent that has graced the stage of the Fire Chief’s Memorial Bandshell every Sunday evening. And come the Fourth of July Norristown kicks it in high gear, offering everything from parades, food, live music and the annual show-stopping display of fireworks.

And this summer, after previous years were hampered by the COVID pandemic, summer in Norristown is back and better than ever. Kevin Tustin, Public Information Officer for the Municipality of Norristown, is certain this summer will be one for the books.

“Summer 2022 has brought Norristown roaring back with big community events! First with the Juneteenth Jubilee and now the 4th of July, we’re happy to have crowd-pleasing celebrations that bring us all together,” Tustin said. “In addition to the Summer Concert Series and family film screenings at Elmwood Park through the summer, there is no shortage of fun to be had in Norristown!”
