CHEYENNE – Union Pacific's Big Boy No. 4014 steam engine will travel to Denver on July 28 for a brief display scheduled for the next day, followed by a passenger trip back to Cheyenne.Â
The 2022 Big Boy No. 4014 West Coast Steam Tour could not be rescheduled, according to a Thursday news release from the Union Pacific Steam Club.Â
Admission is free to the Friday display in Denver. Public tickets for the passenger trip from Denver to Cheyenne on July 30 go on sale Tuesday at uptraintix.com.
"This excursion is the annual gala fundraiser for the Union Pacific Museum, a 501(c)(3) organization, and passengers must be 18 years or older to ride," the news release said. "This is a rare opportunity for the public to travel behind this historic locomotive and on Union Pacific's historic heritage passenger equipment."
