Fireworks may be more expensive this year but that didn't stop the City of Chelsea from throwing one of the biggest fireworks shows they've ever had Saturday.
"I like how they look in the sky, " said Birmingham Resident Hailey Manley
Hundreds of people attend Chelsea Fest just to see the fireworks.
"The kids love the bouncy houses and I love the fireworks," said Chelsea Resident Tim Green.
Tim Green said the louder and brighter they are, the more it makes for a good show.
"A good big finale, lots of loud noises," Green said.
"Something that's got a lot of color and pop to it," said Leeds Resident Hunter Gulledge.
Mayor Tony Picklesimer said the show wouldn't disappoint. Even with the supply chain driving the prices of fireworks up by more than 30%.
"We're going to have the biggest show we've ever had," Picklesimer said.
The city spent more money on the show this year but not as much as it could have been. They started planning early and had a contract with a vendor.
"Our event coordinator, Gerri Roberts, she started working on this show Jan. 2 and she's got our vendors lined up and stuff, so really no issues. Everything has just came together. It actually gets easier and easier every year," Picklesimer said.
