Cedar Rapids Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 1400 block of 3rd Avenue SE just after 3:30pm Saturday afternoon

Upon arrival officers found a single juvenile male suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The juvenile was transported by Area Ambulance to a local hospital and underwent emergency surgery. He is expected to recover.

Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s). Cedar Rapids Police are asking witnesses to come forward with information to help identify the individual(s) responsible for this incident.
