Murder suspect arrested after woman’s body found in abandoned home

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Greenville Police Department made an arrest after a woman was found dead in an abandoned home on South Leach Street on Saturday, July 2.

69-year-old Susan Donald was pronounced dead when officials arrived to the scene, according to the Greenville Police Department.

An autopsy was performed on Monday and determined the cause of death to be asphyxia due to strangulation and the manner of death is homicide.

During an investigation, the Greenville Police Department said detectives identified a recent acquaintance of the victim, Ricky McCullough, as a suspect. He was arrested Tuesday night and is currently being held at the Greenville County Detention Center.

We’re told McCullough has been subsequently charged with the murder of Donald, as well as criminal sexual conduct first-degree.
