Pirates farm report for July 2, 2022: Yoshi Tsutsugo hits grand slam in Indy loss

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 37-38) lost 10-8 to Nashville (Brewers). 1B Yoshi Tsutsugo (.429) smacked a grand slam and was 2 for 4 with with a walk. SS Rodolfo Castro (.220) was 2 for 4, including a two-run homer. DH Kevin Newman (.385) was 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI. LF Ben Gamel (.192) was 0 for 4. RF Jake Marisnick (.214) was 1 for 5 with three strikeouts. CF Travis Swaggerty (.280) was 2 for 4 with an RBI. RHP Miguel Yajure (7.47) allowed seven runs on eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts in three innings, earning a no-decision. RHP John O’Reilly (2-2, 6.26) allowed two runs on one hit with a walk and two strikeouts in two innings and took the loss.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 36-38) was blanked by Harrisburg (Nationals), 6-0. 3B Jared Triolo (.263) was 2 for 4. 1B Aaron Shackelford (.238) and 2B Andres Alvarez (.251) also had hits. RHP Quinn Priester (0-1, 4.09) allowed three runs on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts in four innings and took the loss.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 31-42) was shut out by Hickory (Rangers), 8-0, in a game called in the top of the seventh because of lightning. 2B Jackson Glenn (.223), 3B Dariel Lopez (.251) and 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.301) each had singles. RHP Jared Jones (2-4, 5.27) allowed six runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings and was dealt the loss.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 32-41) dropped a 3-2 decision to Tampa (Rays). C RHP Wyatt Hendrie (.220) hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning. LF Jasiah Dixon (.286) was 2 for 4, and CF Sergio Campana (.197) was 1 for 3. LHP Yoelvis Reyes (1-1, 2.08) allowed one run on one hit with five walks and five strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings and took the loss.
