Colin was downgraded to a post-tropical depression Sunday morning as it made its way into North Carolina, bringing periods of heavy rainfall, gusty winds and rough surf to the South Carolina and North Carolina beaches.
It was downgraded from a tropical depression overnight, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Rough surf and rip currents are likely to continue along the North Carolina coast through Sunday evening, NHC said in its 5 a.m. update.
Colin is forecast to move away from the Carolina coast and dissipate by early Monday.
