TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A home near Lake Travis sustained more than $2 million’s worth of damage and is classified as a “total loss” following a fire that broke out Saturday night.

Volente Fire Department said the large house fire in the 8200 block of Lime Creek Road was out as of early Sunday morning. The homeowner, who was home alone at the time of the fire, escaped without injury.

The house was fully engulfed when KXAN first spoke with fire officials over the phone around 9:45 p.m. Saturday. A later update Sunday afternoon confirmed the approximate 4,000 square-foot single-story residence “had burned to its foundation with just the exterior walls standing.”

Austin Fire, Cedar Park Fire and Lake Travis Fire departments were assisting with the fire. Crews were shuttling water to the fire, AFD said.

Officials estimated the fire caused approximate $1.4 million in property damage, with a content loss around $692,000.

VFD officials said they are investigating the fire and its cause remains under investigation.
