Loved ones hold vigil for victim of Saturday shooting

PEORIA (25 News Now) - Friends and loved ones of the woman who was shot and killed Saturday gathered near the site for a remembrance vigil.

There, they shared photos, stories and memories of 21-year-old Mariah Moss. People close to her say she had recently gotten a job as the head cook at a local community center.

They say she was also working on her GED and saving up to get a car and a new place to stay for her and her family.

“She was kind - she was full of life .. I love her ... Funny, a great mother ... A cook - a great cook .... An awesome friend,” loved ones said of Moss.

Police have arrested 24-year-old Kaitlyn Taylor as a suspect and are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact the Peoria Police Department, tip411, or CrimeStoppers anonymously.
