LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy who was recovered Saturday from Big Long Lake in Hudson.

After what DNR said was a possible drowning, the 22-month-old boy was airlifted out of Big Long Lake around 8:19 p.m. He was brought to a hospital in Fort Wayne, according to the Lagrange County Sheriff’s Department.

He died Sunday around 11 p.m., DNR reported Tuesday.

Results are pending from an autopsy performed Tuesday. The incident remains under investigation.

Conservation officers were assisted by the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, Parkview EMS, Allen County Coroner’s Office, and Parkview Samaritan.
