HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - More than 40 vendors selling an assortment of goods have returned to Hastings Highland Park for the season-long farmers’ market.

For 20 weeks, each Saturday there are vendors selling things like produce, art, jewelry, drinks and more.

Ryan Hanzlick, owner of Long Dogs Distillery, sold liquor at the market for his first time this year.

“The funny part is the farmers markets’ only Saturday mornings here in Hastings. And everyone says its too early for a sample,” said Hanzlick.

The Highland Park Farmers’ Market has been going on for nearly 13 years. Retired carpenter Andy Borrows told Local4 News he had been a vendor at the market for seven years.

“It started as a hobby, and then it became a paying hobby and then it became a small business,” Borrows said. “It’s 20 weeks of nice social contact and a little bit of money and good people,” Andy mentioned.

The farmers market runs from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. each Saturday in the summer at Highland Park.
