Where is Kingwood Township Park Playground located?
The Kingwood Township Park is located at 200 Union Road in Frenchtown in Hunterdon County. Depending on how you enter the park you may not immediately see the playground, but follow the road until you do. The park is part of the Kingwood Township park system.
What kind of playground equipment does Kingwood Township Park have?
As we mentioned this playground has been renovated in the last few years. There are new swings, slides, and all sorts of fun playground equipment. The older equipment has been completely removed. There is no longer a sandbox.
Are there swings?
There is one playground structure with swings. There are 2 colorful traditional swings and 2 colorful baby swings.
Are there slides?
There are two curvy slides.
What special features does the playground offer?
Special features at this playground include a stand-up see-saw, a spinner, a ride-on tractor, multiple climbing features, monkey bars, and sensory play areas.
What kind of ground cover does the playground have?
The ground cover is wood mulch.
Is the playground at Kingwood Township Park accessible?
Despite the renovations to this playground in the last few years, it is not an accessible playground. There is not an accessible swing, nor are there any ramps onto the equipment.
Is there shade available at Kingwood Township Park?
There is a picnic grove area with large trees that provide shade over the tables. There are also 2 pavilions. The playground itself does not offer a lot of shade.
Where is parking for the Kingwood Township Park?
There is a medium-sized parking lot.
Are there restrooms at Kingwood Township Park?
There were indoor restrooms located in a nearby building.
What else is there to do at Kingwood Township Park?
In addition to the playground at Kingwood Township Park, there are additional amenities available for visitors.
Are there walking trails?
Families love the one-mile loop trail that encircles the park, part of the trail travels through the wooded area and along Lockatong Creek.
Are there fields or courts for sports?
We discovered a basketball court nearby. There are also large grassy areas for play. Some seem to be set up for soccer. Other areas are open, there was even a net stretch across one space that could be used for volleyball or badminton.
Bonus, the grassy area also offers visitors a gaga ball pit.
Our former writer also said, “The large grassy fields were perfect for my children to explore. They even found a small stream and an old wooden bridge. We enjoyed searching for frogs and minnows.”
There are 9 ball fields and a bocce court and concession stand. In 2006, a sand volleyball court, two horseshoe and shuffleboard areas were added.
