UPDATE: Woman trapped under SUV in SLC crash

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – A left in critical condition after being trapped under an SUV that crashed into a Famous Footwear shoe store at 1170 East 2100 South in Salt Lake City.

The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) reports that the investigation of this incident began at 3:45 p.m. when SLC911 received multiple reports of Buick Enclave that crashed into a storefront.

An officer who was just heading home from a patrol shift happened to be in the area and responded to the reports immediately. Additional officers and paramedics responded as well.

The SLCPD says that witnesses told officers that the crash pinned a woman under the SUV.

Three people were injured inside the store, including one woman who is 21-weeks pregnant, her seven-year-old daughter, and another woman who was trapped under the SUV.

Salt Lake City Fire’s Heavy Rescue Squad safely extricated the woman from underneath the SUV. Paramedics then transported her to the hospital in critical condition. At this time, there are no further updates on her condition.

The pregnant woman and her daughter both received minor injuries and were driven to the hospital by a family member.

SLCPD identified the driver of the SUV as an 81-year-old woman. She received minor injuries from the crash and is cooperating with the investigation.

The SLCPD is currently working to confirm the cause of the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) has reported that they believe the driver of the SUV in this incident mistakenly hit the accelerator instead of the break, causing them to crash into the Famous Footwear shoe store.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Multiple people have been injured following a SUV crash into the Famous Footwear on 1170 East 2100 South.

The Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD) reports that there were four injured as a result of the crash, including the driver of the SUV.

At this time, one victim is in critical condition. A woman and her seven-year-old daughter received minor injuries, while the driver of the SUV received minor injuries as well.

SLCPD notes that their crash team is en rute to assist in the investigation of this incident.

The cause of the crash remains unknow.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Authorities are on scene of SUV crash that occurred in Salt Lake City on July 2.

According to the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD), an SUV crashed into the Famous Footwear store located at 1170 East 2100 South sometime before 4:10 p.m.

Officers are working alongside the Salt Lake City Fire Department (SLCFD) to control this incident.

At this time, it is unknown if any injuries resulted from the crash.
