WASHINGTON (WJLA) —
Two adults are dead after a vehicle crashed into a firework stand in Washington, D.C., in what authorities are calling a "major crash scene" Saturday evening, a D.C. police spokesperson said.

D.C. police first tweeted about the incident 6:16 p.m. EDT, saying multiple pedestrians were struck.
The following roads are closed at this time:
- Minnesota Avenue Northeast between Sheriff Road and Hunt Place NE
- Nannie Helen Burroughs Ave NE between Kenilworth Ave and 44th St NE
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
No other details have been released.
