A 40-year-old man is dead and four others suffered minor injuries in a Saturday morning crash in Wood County.
It happened at 10:24 a.m. on State Route 420, just south of Libbey Road in Lake Township.
According the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Bryan Dearth, 26, of Clyde was traveling northbound on State Route 420 in a 2012 Ford F-350 when Richard Hass, of Sandusky, failed to maintain an assured clear distance while approaching Dearth's truck, hitting it from behind.
Dearth and his 26-year-old passenger were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. However, two young children in the rear seat were properly fastened in child restraints.
They all suffered minor injuries and sought medical treatment on their own.
Hass was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo where he later died.
Troopers say Hass was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
