FBI task force arrests six in Canton on drug charges

CANTON – The Canton FBI Safe Streets Task Force seized more than 100 pounds of marijuana, a kilogram of cocaine and cash on Wednesday in a series of arrests. 

Authorities arrested six men who remain in custody in the Stark County Jail, according to jail records.

According to arrest records, four males were arrested with the cocaine and $33,000 in cash.

Three were charged with conspiracy to commit possession of a controlled substance, and conspiracy to commit aggravated trafficking in cocaine, both first-degree felonies. The fourth, 37-year-old Vincente Guzman-Bernal of Dover, was held as a courtesy for another agency, but was not charged locally.

The males were identified as Modesto Gomez, 40, of Orrville; Alejandro Jesus Quezada, 33, of Louisville; and Adrian Nava-Marquez, 31, of Louisville. They each are in custody on $750,000 bond in Stark County awaiting court appearances next week.

A second group of males were arrested and charged with complicity to commit trafficking in marijuana, and complicity to commit possession of marijuana, both second-degree felonies. Court records reveal that the FBI Safe Streets Task Force located 100 pounds of marijuana packaged for sale.

Charged in the second case were Victor Manuel Flores-Suazo, 25, of Massillon, and Fidel Gutierrez, 23, of Canton, who each remain jailed in Stark County on a $750,000 bond.
