UPDATE: Michigan State Police reported Sunday, July 4, that Robertson’s body was found in the St. Joseph River near Buchanan. Police said no foul play was suspected.

NILES, MI – Michigan State Police issued an endangered, missing advisory Saturday, July 2 for a Niles man.

John Charles Robertson, 28, was last seen wearing a brown and red striped shirt, khaki pants and orange and blue shoes at 706 Hickory St. in Niles, police said.

Police describe Robertson as being 5-foot-10 and 145 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Robertson’s vehicle was located on U.S.-31 north of Buchanan Road on the bridge over the St. Joseph River. Police said the keys were still in the ignition and Robertson left his phone at home.

Anyone with information about Robertson’s whereabouts can contact 911.
