Salinas police make large ghost gun and ammunition bust
Ghost guns, gun parts, 3D printers, and several rounds of ammunition were found during a probation check at a home in Salinas.
According to police, on Friday, officers and members of the Monterey County Probation Department conducted a probation compliance check at a house on San Benito Street, just a block away from Sherwood Elementary School.
The list of seized items includes a 3D printer, drill press, sawed-off shotgun, short barreled AR, two completed polymer-80 Glock style handguns, seven manufactured lowers (4 AR style and three Glock style/all made on the 3D printer), several thousand rounds of ammunition, and over 20 magazines, including a 50 round drum for a pistol.
Police say the suspect, 22-year-old Roberto Lara, was arrested and booked for a list of firearm charges.
