Bicyclist riding at fast speed injured after hitting vehicle, police say

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. —
Around 4 p.m., on July 1, Ephrata Police were called to a crash involving a bicyclist and vehicle at the intersection of East Main St. and Washington Ave.

A police investigation revealed a local resident was on the sidewalk riding his bike when they rode into the side of a vehicle who was in the process of making a turn from Main St. onto Washington Ave.
Police were informed through witnesses that the driver of the vehicle was making their turn slow as the cyclist was traveling the sidewalk at a fast speed and failed to stop or slow down prior to the intersection.

The cyclist was injured in the incident and taken to Penn Medicine-Lancaster General Hospital for treatment.
