Things weren’t looking great for the Miami Hurricanes with Ocala (Fla.) Trinity Catholic OL Tommy Kinsler when he came off his visit to the University of Florida the middle of June.

Kinsler committed to the Gators … but quickly said he’d still go ahead with his Miami Hurricanes official visit the weekend of June 24.

The end result?

Kinsler has now decommitted from the Gators and Miami has surged into the favorite position for his next commitment.

CaneSport Publisher Gary Ferman, Managing Editor Matt Shodell and Corey Bender of Gators Online have all made Miami predictions now into the Recruiting Prediction Machine with an 80% probability that Kinsler ultimately chooses Miami. The Machine gives him a 95.4% chance now of picking the Hurricanes.

Kinsler would give Miami a much-needed highly talented offensive tackle added to this class and another recruiting win over Florida which also lost out to the Canes with Jaden Rashada.

Kinsler says the message he’s consistently gotten from UM coaches is that “they like my game, how physical I am on the field.”

He landed an offer from the prior staff and was quickly reoffered by the new staff when they came on board.

CaneSport’s take

The Canes have really worked hard on Kinsler and want him badly. A Miami win would simply be a result of relentless recruiting. Miami is working hard to put together an offensive line class of maulers, and Kinsler would be a big part of that.
