CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine is again delaying the executions of two more people due to the ongoing battle of obtaining lethal injection drugs.

Antonio Franklin, 43, of Dayton, was scheduled to be executed Jan. 12, 2023. The new date has been moved to Feb. 11, 2026, according to DeWine’s office.

Stanley Fitzpatrick, 54, of Cincinnati, was scheduled to be executed Feb. 15, 2023. The new date of execution has been moved to April 16, 2026, his office said.

The state has struggled with obtaining drugs that are needed to perform lethal injections, which is the legal method that Ohio uses for execution.

DeWine recently postponed the execution of Quisi Bryan who was convicted of killing a Cleveland police officer.

He has postponed executions since taking office in January 2019 and has asked state lawmakers to find an alternative method.

Franklin, who has been on death row since Sept. 11, 1998, killed his uncle and grandparents and became the youngest person on death road in 1998.

He beat his uncle, Antonio Franklin, grandmother, Ophelia Franklin, and grandfather, Ivory Franklin Sr. with a baseball bat. His grandmother also had a gunshot wound to the head.

He set the home on fire, which was where the killings happened.

Fitzpatrick committed a 2001 killing spree that started with his live-in girlfriend, Doreathea Hayes, then her daughter, Shenay, and then his next-door neighbor Elton Rose who he invited over for help.

He tried to lure Rose’s wife in the home to check on her dead husband. He lured a Lincoln Heights police officer who responded to a 911 call into the home. Fitzpatrick pulled out a gun and fired three shots at the officer and drove away in his patrol car.

Fitzpatrick has been on death row since Feb. 25, 2012.
