Which players could hold the Carolina Panthers to ransom if the team performs better than anticipated in 2022?

There are so many unknowns within the Carolina Panthers right now, that it’s been hard to keep up this offseason. Some major changes took place across the roster and within the coaching staff throughout a busy spring, which was necessary if the team wants to stand any chance of being competitive in 2022.

The Panthers have also left plenty of spare cash to make further moves should they wish. Something that is clearly needed at the quarterback spot and for additional defensive line depth.

It’s a precarious situation for Carolina, who find themselves around $30 million over the cap in 2023. Although this is likely to come down significantly once cuts are made and more contracts restructured.

However, it could lead to a few problems with established figures in the locker room. With this in mind, here are four players who could hold the Panthers to ransom in 2023.

Bradley Bozeman – Carolina Panthers C

When one looks at the new additions to the Carolina Panthers this offseason, Bradley Bozeman is among those that could make the biggest impact. The talented center performed well for the Baltimore Ravens in 2021 and was signed to a deal that represents a significant bargain with a cap hit of just $2.8 million.

Bozeman is betting on himself. And a strong campaign will put him in an incredibly solid position when it’s time to begin negotiations on a new deal.

The Alabama product will be 29 years old next season, so this will be his last chance to earn a megabucks deal. Something that could complicate Carolina’s chances of extending his stay.
