The owner of an embattled Springfield car rental company is now facing new legal trouble.
Sangamon County State’s Attorney Dan Wright has charged Urgent Rent-A-Car owner Jordan Monroe with one count of insurance fraud. The complaint alleges that in February of 2021, Monroe submitted a false claim to National Interstate Insurance Company for an amount between $300 and $10,000.
Monroe’s company was already under investigation by the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office for allegedly failing to meet state insurance requirements on its vehicles.
